Morocco is one of the most underrated paragliding destinations in the world. Reliable weather, dramatic scenery and low prices make it a favourite for both first-timers and experienced pilots. Here are the four spots we recommend.
1. Aguergour, Marrakech
The busiest and most accessible site in the country, just 45 minutes from Marrakech. A west-facing take-off at 1,350 m and a huge landing field make it ideal for beginners, while thermals in spring keep experienced pilots happy.
2. Taghazout, Agadir
Coastal soaring over the Atlantic with the famous surf breaks below. Gentle sea breezes make it one of the smoothest sites — and the photos are unbeatable.
3. Beni Mellal
At the foot of the Middle Atlas, Beni Mellal is a cross-country playground with powerful thermals in spring and autumn.
4. Ifrane
Green, alpine-like scenery with cedar forests and lakes — a calm, scenic option away from the desert heat.
When to go
You can fly somewhere in Morocco all year. Spring (March–May) offers the strongest thermals; autumn is stable and clear.
